Rent Digital Baby Scales: Baby Scales are such a necessity but used for a short time therefore rental is a great option!
A baby‘s weight should always be closely monitored to ensure optimum health.
If you are not sure if your baby is getting enough milk, use a digital scale to know if your baby is gaining weight on a daily basis.
Some useful stats: During the first-week baby will lose 8% of his or her birth weight but should regain it again by the 2nd or 3rd week.
Up until 6 months, an average baby gains 142 to 198 grams per week. After 6 months it drops to 113 gram per week.
I still remember as a new mom how stressful it was to take my daughter to the clinic.
Not only was she a “winter” baby and the weather was super cold, but by the time I had her dressed, myself dressed, the car packed and the baby seat installed, I was exhausted.
I would have absolutely loved to have a baby scale for the first 3 months. Needless to say that moms with prem babies or even twin babies will benefit even more!

“Why weigh a baby?
When a baby is around 2 weeks old, it should have started to regain the weight.
It is not necessary to weigh them as often. At this point, a widely accepted notion is that a baby should be weighed around once a month. Still, if you have a rental scale, you can weigh your baby as many times as you please, as a way to monitor your child’s growth from the comfort of your own home.
Sometimes doctors ask that a newborn be weighed every week. This weekly rhythm may seem too much for some parents, especially if they don’t get enough information about what a baby’s normal weight is and why should their baby be weighed so often.There are also overzealous parents who can get competitive about being better at “doing everything right for their child”, and play the same parental game we’re already used to seeing regarding reading or walking skills.
With a baby scale, you can easily check if your child’s growth chart is within the standards, and if it follows a regular trend (no sudden weight gain/loss, no weight stagnation).”

The UK’s pediatricians‘ Coventry Consensus recommendation’ (1998) states all babies should be weighed at birth, and those who are growing normally should be weighed ‘at immunization and surveillance contracts’ – giving five weights in their first year.
The NHS adds, that a baby should be weighed a maximum of once a month until they are six months old, once every two months from 6-12 months, and after age one every three months (maximums).
However, if there are concerns over your baby’s health – or you ask for a more frequent assessment – then they can be weighed more often.
