Rent Maxi-Cosi Rodifix AirProtect Booster – Isofix

Rent a car seat from us at Cape Town International Airport and benefit from our exclusive personalized courier service. We are the only baby gear rental company providing direct deliveries and collections from the airport.

Children seated in a booster seat, like the Maxi-Cosi Rodifix AirProtect Booster, are 45% less likely to be injured in a crash compared to those using a seat belt alone.

The Maxi-Cosi Rodifix AirProtect Booster is an innovative seat designed for children from approximately 3.5 years up to 12 years old, weighing between 15 kg and 36 kg. With its patented AirProtect® technology, it provides extra side-impact headrest protection for maximum safety.

Installation

Regardless of your car type, the Maxi-Cosi Rodifix AirProtect Booster will fit if your vehicle has ISOFIX connectors.

For a secure fit, attach the child seat using your car’s seat belt and ISOFIX system.

Simply place the Rodifix AirProtect Booster on the back seat, connect it to the ISOFIX anchors, and fasten the seat belt. Installation is complete!

The ISOFIX connection enhances the stability of the booster seat. When not in use, the seat remains more stable, adding to its safety benefits. Most modern cars come equipped with ISOFIX connectors, but if you're unsure, check our Car Fitting List to see if the Maxi-Cosi Rodifix AirProtect Booster is compatible with your vehicle.

Safety

At Maxi-Cosi, child safety is their top priority. Their car seats, including the Maxi-Cosi Rodifix AirProtect Booster, are rigorously tested by external crash test centers like ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club) for dynamic safety and ease of use.

The Rodifix AirProtect received high marks for safety, featuring a Side Protection System and unique AirProtect® technology to safeguard your child during a crash.

AirProtect® technology reduces the risk of head injury by up to 20% by diverting impact forces away from your child’s head and absorbing them into the headrest.

As your child grows, the Maxi-Cosi Rodifix AirProtect Booster remains comfortable. Adjust the headrest’s height to accommodate your child's growth up to 12 years old.

When to Use a Booster Seat

Children should switch to a belt-positioning booster seat when their weight or height exceeds the limits of their forward-facing car safety seat.

This transition typically occurs when they reach 4 feet 9 inches in height and are between 8 and 12 years old.

However, most children won’t fit properly in a vehicle's seat belt without a booster until they are 10 to 11 years old.

For added safety, it is recommended that all children under the age of 13 ride in the back seat.

Signs Your Child Has Outgrown a Forward-Facing Seat

A child has outgrown their forward-facing seat when:

  • They reach the top weight or height limits specified for the seat with a harness (check the seat’s limits in the instruction manual).
  • Their shoulders are above the top harness slots.
  • The tops of their ears have reached the top of the seat.

Types of Booster Seats

Booster seats come in two standard types: high-back and backless booster car seats.

  • Both types do not include harness straps but use the vehicle’s lap and shoulder seat belts, similar to how an adult rides.
  • Backless booster car seats are designed to elevate a child so that the seat belt fits properly over the strongest parts of their body.
