Whether you’re planning a family holiday, need a temporary seat for a visiting grandchild, or want to try before you buy, renting the Britax Romer Evolva offers exceptional value without compromising safety.

  • Suitable from 9 months to 12 years – accommodates 9–36 kg.

  • Highback booster protection for head-to-hip safety.

  • 5-point harness system for younger children.

  • Performance chest pads reduce movement and protect the neck.

  • Easy one-hand adjustable headrest to grow with your child.

  • Forward-facing installation in any car’s back seat.

  • Lightweight (8 kg) yet sturdy and durable.

  • Comfortable padded seat with breathable fabric.

  • Perfect for rentals – ideal for holidays, visiting family, or temporary use.

  • Focus on safety and comfort – the Britax Romer Evolva ensures correct seat belt positioning at every stage.

Safety Features

Safety is the core of the Britax Romer Evolva’s design. This highback booster offers three-way protection in the event of a collision:

  • Head-to-Hip Protection: The deep, padded side wings shield your child from head to hip, especially in side impacts.

  • Correct Seat Belt Positioning: Upper and lower belt guides keep the seat belt correctly aligned across your child’s shoulder and hips.

  • Padded Headrest: Provides optimal support for the head and neck, especially on longer journeys.

The 5-point harness system—widely considered the safest way to secure a child—distributes crash forces across five contact points: two shoulders, two hips, and one point between the legs. This design minimizes movement and offers full-body protection.

Additionally, performance chest pads enhance comfort while absorbing energy in a frontal impact, reducing forward movement and easing strain on the neck and shoulders.

Designed for Growing Children

The Britax Romer Evolva is built to grow with your child:

  • For younger passengers (9–18 kg), use the integrated 5-point harness for maximum protection.

  • For older children (15–36 kg), transition to the vehicle’s 3-point seat belt while still benefiting from the seat’s protective shell and headrest.

The one-hand adjustable headrest and harness make it quick and easy to adapt the seat to your child’s height. Before installation, adjust the headrest so it sits just above your child’s shoulders for the best fit and safety.

Comfort for Every Journey

Long car rides can be tiring for little ones, but the Britax Romer Evolva ensures they stay comfortable. The padded seat, supportive headrest, and breathable fabrics create a pleasant seating experience. The seat’s design also ensures children are positioned upright, which helps prevent neck strain during naps.

Why Booster Seats Matter

Once children outgrow their forward-facing car seat with a harness, a booster seat ensures the vehicle’s seat belt fits correctly. Without a booster, the belt may sit too high on the stomach or neck, increasing injury risk. A booster positions the belt over the strongest parts of the body: the hips and chest.

Experts recommend children remain in a booster until they are at least 4 ft 9 in (145 cm) tall—usually between 8 and 12 years old. Regardless of age, all children under 13 should ride in the back seat for maximum safety.

Harness vs. Seat Belt in Booster Seats – What Parents Need to Know

One of the most common questions parents have is why some booster seats include a harness and others do not, or why they are instructed to remove the harness at a certain stage. The answer comes down to child safety, growth, and correct restraint fit.

Harness-Equipped Boosters (Harness Mode)

  • Designed for younger children who have outgrown a toddler car seat but are not yet big enough for safe use of the vehicle’s seat belt alone.

  • The 5-point harness keeps the child securely positioned, distributing crash forces across the shoulders, hips, and between the legs.

  • Prevents a small child from slouching, leaning, or slipping under the seat belt (“submarining”).

  • The Britax Romer Evolva uses the harness for children between 9–18 kg.

Belt-Positioning Boosters (Seat Belt Mode)

  • Once a child exceeds the harness weight/height limit, the harness must be removed to avoid increased injury risk.

  • The vehicle’s 3-point seat belt is then routed through the booster’s belt guides.

  • This ensures the lap belt sits low across the hips and upper thighs and the shoulder belt lies flat across the middle of the shoulder and chest.

Why Remove the Harness After a Certain Weight?

  • Harness systems are engineered to withstand crash forces for children within a specific weight range. Exceeding this limit can strain the harness and compromise safety.

  • In a crash, a heavier child restrained by a harness designed for lighter weights may experience higher forces concentrated on smaller body areas, increasing injury risk.

  • The seat belt in belt-positioning mode spreads forces more appropriately across a larger, heavier body.

General Safety Guidelines:

  • Always follow the manufacturer’s stated harness weight/height limits.

  • When in doubt, transition to seat belt mode once your child surpasses 18 kg in the Britax Romer Evolva.

  • Ensure your child can sit upright without slouching for the entire journey before moving to belt mode.

  • Keep children in a highback booster until they meet adult seat belt fit criteria—usually not before 10–12 years old.
